There are many layers of congregational care at Myers Park Baptist Church, including contacts by staff and deacons, care to members from Sunday School classes, fellowship groups, choirs, and more — including the following congregational ministry programs:
Thursday Morning Prayer Group
Serves as a prayer support system for all people including visitors, friends, staff, church families and people world–wide. The prayer group meets every Thursday, at 10:30, in the chapel.
Congregational Care Ministry Program
Through this program, every member of our church is contacted at least twice a year, on their birthday and on their anniversary of joining our church. The ministry is lay-driven with more than 60 members of the church making the contacts. |

Care Connection
You are invited to release your gifts through the ministry of Care Connection by joining an eight to ten member team to:
- Create community
- Provide spiritual, emotional, and physical support
- Connect with some of our members in acute or chronic need
Some of the services we provide are:
- Listening
- Respite for caregivers
- Transportation to and from medical appointments
- Light household and lawn chores
- Identifying community resources
The Lord’s Supper to Our Homebound
This is a ministry of our Deacons. Following the times we celebrate the Lord’s Supper at church, our Deacons take The Lord’s Supper to members who are unable to attend church. This is a most meaningful experience both for the homebound member and for the Deacons.
The Delivery of Poinsettias and Lilies
At Christmas our homebound receive Poinsettias, and our members who have lost loved ones in their immediate family receive at Easter a Lily in memory of their loved one.
Southminster
Southminster is a continuing care retirement community founded by Myers Park Baptist Church and Christ Episcopal Church. Many of our members and members form other local churches do volunteer work with the residents. Also, every Monday afternoon, from 4:00 till 5:00, a Bible Workbench group meets in The Queen Charlotte Room.
