Friends of Music

The Friends of Music Concert Series joins an excellent musical environment found in the Sanctuary of Myers Park Baptist Church with excellent musicians from the Charlotte area, from the USA, and from abroad. Music of all classical styles and cultures, when brought to life by true artists, allows each listener the opportunity to expand their horizons intellectually and emotionally.

Join us Sunday evening, February 21 at 7:00pm to hear one of the finest brass ensembles in the country.

With their combination of virtuosity and good humor, Carolina Brass is a favorite among audiences of all ages. Drawing from their vast repertoire of Classical and Contemporary works, Medieval and Renaissance music, and popular forms encompassing Broadway, Jazz, Dixieland, and Big Band, the group creates exciting, entertaining and educational programs.

Established in 1997, Carolina Brass provides audiences with an opportunity to hear and experience quality chamber music in both formal and informal settings. This Summit Recording ensemble is a group of dedicated professionals with a commitment to excellence in performance and music education. Trained at some of the country’s most prestigious schools, including the New England Conservatory of Music, Indiana University, and the Eastman School of Music, Carolina Brass personnel have extensive national andinternational performing, recording and touring experience.
